An official birthday

Dearest Michael,

I was looking at some pictures the other day, and found this sweet one of you and Maxwell.  

And it reminded me of another similar picture of you and Kathryn (taken by Shel)...

These pictures capture you best as a father.  Your children are reaching for you.  They love you so much.
You are an amazing father and a wonderful husband.
You have a lot on your plate now, but you still manage to do the little things that are important to us.
Like when you make Kathryn breakfast every single morning.  It makes her day to eat with you.
She knows she can trust you.
And when you greet Maxwell after a long day of work.  He happily (and sometimes tearfully) crawls to you.
He knows you will pick him up.
And when you re-finished the bench I've wanted so badly to finish, but haven't had time to do.
I know how much you love me.
Happy Birthday darling.  We all love you so much.
And now, you are officially the age you've been thinking you were for years.  It's going to be a great year!
