We drove to San Diego after leaving Disney California Adventure.
We absolutely loved the time we spent there two summers ago, so we knew we had to go back.
And we couldn't miss Sea World. We had such an adventure the last time we went.
We had a lot of fun on the rides, but there was no comparison after going to Disneyland.
Max wasn't able to ride any of the big rides, which was a little frustrating.
Nonetheless, they were still so fun. I wasn't able to ride any of them last time because I was pregnant with Sam. We loved the Manta and Journey to Atlantis.
Max fell and cut himself, but he was pretty happy with his Shamu band aid.
We decided to sit in the splash zone during the Shamu show, and wow did we get soaked!
It was a little uncomfortable, being salt water and all. Still worth it.
Sam had a rough evening, so I stayed in our room while Michael took Max and Kat swimming.
It had nothing to do with the fact that we were going on five days at theme parks.
He was done, that's for sure. But he still carried his Mickey Mouse around with him everywhere.
The kids loved the bunk beds, and Max has been asking for one ever since.
One afternoon, we went on a Seal Tour. First we drove around San Diego in this Hydra terra vehicle.
And then, we drove right out into the water. It was an interesting bus thing turned boat.
A few of the seals put on a show for us, but the majority of them slept.
After our tour, we tracked down an amazing pizza restaurant in Little Italy.
Amazing. We just happened to find this fun place last time, not realizing how famous it was.
I'm drooling right now thinking about it. So yummy.
We went to the beach on quite possibly one of the windiest days.
The kids didn't seem to mind the sand blowing in their faces the entire time.
It was a lovely evening though, despite the wind.
Please notice Max's eyebrows and how dark they are from the sand.
Oh, and Sammy's mouth lined with sand.
We also went back to Balboa Park. I fell in love with it last time.
The grounds are so beautiful.
Kathryn had begged us the entire trip to get her face painted, and we finally broke down.
And then, we started back on our long journey home. We love family vacations!
California, we can't wait to go back.
