Camping out

Michael planned a camping trip in the backyard for us over the weekend.  Kathryn was thrilled!
While purchasing groceries, she gave a five minute presentation to the cashier about our camping trip.
We slept in Michael's two person backpacking tent, and it was a tight squeeze with the four of us.
Kathryn got a lesson on how to prepare camp and how to keep the tent clean.
She was excited to help, and even more excited to play with Max.  Who, was eating rocks yet again.
What kind of a mother am I?
My favorite part of the night was story time.
I wanted so badly to capture the shear adoration on Kathryn's face as Michael read to her.
It was precious.
And as the night wore on, so did the kicking, tossing, turning and crying.
I ended up going inside with Maxwell at five.  I probably should have gone in sooner.
Both Michael and I were pretty sore the next morning.
I think Kathryn was the only one who got a descent night sleep.
But Michael later told me, that despite the terrible night sleep, it was worth it.
And I have to agree.  Because I love my sweet little family more than anything in the world.
