Memorial Day: Part 1

We spent another year in Island Park by Henry's Lake.
It's quickly becoming a family tradition.
We rented a cabin with Michael's parents and two of his siblings and their families.
It was a beautiful place and the view was spectacular.

There was plenty to do.
Explore, play Indians, pick wildflowers, shoot BB guns, four wheel.
We all enjoyed being together and the beautiful nature.

It was much colder this year than last year. I struggled to keep my kids warm enough.
Although, they certainly didn't complain...you know how kids can be.
And it rained quite a bit while we were there, so we spent some down time in the cabin.

I woke up early one morning to an incredible sunrise.
I'm not much of a morning person, so I don't get to see too many.
That's a shame. I'd really like to change my habits.
My early bird Kathryn heard me get up, so she joined me on a little nature walk outside.

We attended sacrament meeting in West Yellowstone.
We had better luck this year, since there wasn't a power outage.

And of course, the main reason for the trip was the fishing.
The men and a few children, got up early on opening day to fish at Henry's Lake
It twas pretty cold, but they still had fun out on the water. Thanks to Dan for sharing his boat.

And the rest of us got to go out later for some fishing and a boat ride.
All of the grand kids had a chance to fish for a little bit, but sadly, no one caught anything.
The kids didn't seem to mind too much.
I think they were really more interested in the awesome snacks and going FAST.

Oh these two boys...pictures can say a thousand words.

Thanks for getting these pictures Shel.
What fun memories!
